a charlotte street 15 year anniversary project considering the history and future of artist-driven pioneering in Kansas City and the changing nature of the city's "frontiers"
We’ve been rehearsing in Paragraph Gallery for 2 weeks. We are in the space on Wednesdays 8:15pm-9:45pm, Fridays 5:15pm-7:15pm, and Saturdays 1pm-3:30pm. Katie Ford will begin construction on our set next week.
Come down, peek in the window, and use the disposable camera we have placed outside at the bus stop to take our picture. We would love to see what you see.
This Wednesday, our collaborative team, Abbe Findley, Katie Ford, Laura Frank, Jane Gotch, Laura Graham Isaac, and Tiffany Sisemore met with Dr. Winnie Dunn, researcher, professor, and occupational therapist at KU Medical Center. We discussed how her ongoing study of how we perceive, relate, and interact with our environment through our senses could be used to shape this upcoming performance. She explained to us, “The sensory pattern is the edge of you interacting with the space.”
How do we as artists define and interact with the edges of our performance space, our audience’s edge, and our own edges?
